We are committed to transforming the way clinicians and patients connect by providing innovative virtual medical platforms, comprehensive support, and tools that make remote medical exams seamless, accurate, and patient-centred.

Meet The Founders

Adam Benko - Director and Co-Founder

Adam began his career in education, teaching high school mathematics in the UK before embarking on extensive travels in 2011. Upon returning, he transitioned into recruitment and permanently moved to New Zealand in 2015, where he specialised as a medical recruiter, helping healthcare providers meet their staffing needs.

Witnessing the ongoing challenges of staff shortages and recognising the potential of health technology and AI to transform care, Adam shifted his focus to virtual medical solutions. By building strong relationships with New Zealand healthcare providers and deepening his knowledge of telehealth technologies, he identified the opportunity to bring cutting-edge solutions to the NZ healthcare sector - leading to the founding of Virtual Medical Solutions (VMS).

Originally from Bolton, Adam now calls Auckland home with his wife, their two sons, and their border collie. Outside of work, he enjoys playing and following sports - particularly football, rugby league, and golf - and is always up for a meeting on the golf course.

Martin King - Director and Co-Founder

Martin’s early career found him holding senior management positions with a publicly listed recruitment business in the UK before immigrating to New Zealand in 2006.

Since moving to NZ, Martin has developed a keen interest in supporting the New Zealand healthcare system, firstly, through his role as an immigration advisor and Director at Pathways to New Zealand - a specialist immigration advisory company. Secondly, when becoming the managing director at New Zealand Doctor recruitment (NZDr), a medical recruitment agency. Through his work with recruitment and immigration, Martin has been able to assist many healthcare professionals and their families with smooth transitions to the NZ healthcare sector.

VMS is the latest addition to Martin’s portfolio of solutions, embracing the adoption of technology in New Zealand’s healthcare system.

Martin is married to a kiwi. They met in London, where they had their two children before moving to NZ. Ballet has always played a big part in family life, with their eldest child now dancing professionally in the UK and their daughter studying dance in the USA. When he has a rare quiet moment, he enjoys sampling the delights of the New Zealand craft beer industry.
